Bob Arum needs to take a look at Juan Manuel Marquez. On Saturday night JMM showed the entire world that he is still a force in the division by dominating Juan Diaz over 12 rounds. Marquez is one of the very few fighters on the planet that has given Manny Pacquiao trouble.
Some say that Marquez should have been given the victory over Pacquiao, and with his impressive defeat over Juan Diaz he has demonstrated that he is still the man in that division. Pacquiao Vs Margarito would not be as exciting a fight as a three-peat with Marquez would be. Marquez has the perfect style, and the smarts in the ring to give Pacquiao a great challenge.

Some say that Antonio Margarito doesn’t even deserve an opportunity to fight Pacquiao. Why reward a guy that was caught cheating with such a handsome payday? Why not give the opportunity to JMM, a guy who does nothing but fight wars, and a guy that stays out of trouble? Marquez over anyone else has earned his right for another crack at Pacquiao.
Mississippians who I spoke with today about this topic agree, Marquez should get the nod and not Margarito. Donna Crawford of Canton, MS, a Pacquiao fan born in the Philippines said this, ” Manny has worked hard to get his blessings. Margarito got caught cheating, and should not be rewarded with this opportunity. Marquez fought Manny like a great warrior, it should be he who gets to fight Manny again.”
Marquez Vs. Pacquiao would sell more tickets, and it would sell more PPV’s than a Margarito fight would. The two styles makes for another exciting match. Marquez desperately wants to remove the thorn put into his side by Manny some years ago. Time will tell who gets the nod, hopefully it will be a guy who deserves it.
