Manny Pacquiao owes one from Hollywood

Brief Review by Filipino Celebrity Headlines Examiner, Hollywood, California, July 18, 2010 – The Pacman Emmanuel ?Manny? D. Pacquiao is ready for the 15th Philippine Congress. Elected as Congressman of the Sarangani Province during the May 2010 polls, the Pacman embarks on another challenge. He vows to better the lives of his constituents and has started promoting Sarangani Bay as a diving destination In preparation for his task as lawmaker, he finished a 10-day crash course on Development Legislation and Governance at the Graduate School of Public and Development Management of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).

There seems to be nothing that the Pacman cannot do. He created history by becoming the first seven-division world champion. He has graced the cover of Time Asia magazine and was voted as Fighter of the Decade by the Boxing Writer?s Association of America. He sings and has released two albums and three singles. He is one of the most sought-after endorsers, having appeared in Nike’s “Fast Forward” campaign, alongside Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Liu Xiang. He has done several advertisements for San Miguel Beer including those with Jet Li and ?rik Morales. And who would miss Alaxan on his boxing shorts?

He is an actor. He has appeared in various movies and TV shows. Other than his initial film mark in guerilla warfare on ‘Ang Kumander”, his first movie starrer was science fiction comedy Wapakman. It was released on December 25, 2009 as an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival. He played Magno Meneses, an ordinary man who developed super powers.

Rumors about a movie with the Sylvester Stallone started to circulate in January 2009 when Wapakman met with Rocky in the latter?s Los Angeles Office. According to Pacman?s business manager, Eric Pineda, Stallone wanted the world champion as one of his co-stars in a movie. Pineda added that it wouldn?t be a boxing movie like Rocky, but more like Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker?s Rush Hour.

Maybe it can be more like Tango and Cash, Stallone?s movie with Kurt Russell. Action scenes won?t be that hard for the Pacman. His soft-spoken charm and humility would thrill the world. Even his distinct accent would not fail to entertain. The ideas keep coming but the mere possibility of watching the Pacman on the silverscreen with Stallone is simply exciting.

The picture of Pacman hugging two-time Oscar Winner Denzel Washington after his fight with British Hitman Ricky Hatton makes one dream of seeing them together in a movie. Training day?s Detective Alonzo Harris can definitely use the assistance of a southpaw in a movie. People?s 1996 Sexiest Man Alive meets Pinoy ladies? man.

Or maybe he can do one with the Lawman Steven Seagal? The two had dinner in Hollywood in February this year and talked about doing a movie or a concert together. The seven-division world champion would definitely know how to fight in a movie, or share the stage with the 7th degree black belt and Aikido master and blues musician.

The Pacman has mesmerized the world with his grace and speed. Watching him on the ring is like watching a motion picture, scripted and well-planned. Only the best scenes are chosen from the day?s rushes. There won?t be a reason they wouldn?t love seeing him on Hollywood?s silverscreen.
