If Floyd Mayweather takes a pass on Pacquiao, the only other fight that would be competitive for Pacquiao would be against Timothy Bradley. A second fight against Cotto would more than likely end up the same way that the first fight ended up, and Antonio Margarito doesn’t deserve a shot a Pacquiao, not in my opinion anyway.
Bradley is no joke, and the guy has speed and power. He destroyed a very good fundamental fighter in Lamont Peterson, retired the former lightweight champ Nate Campbell, and handled 2006 ESPN fighter of the year Edner Cherry with relative ease as well. Bradley throws a lot of punches, and he throws them in bunches. He is a very fast, come forward type of fighter who’s style would provide for a very exciting fight against Pacquiao. Oh yea, and I forgot to mention, he’s undefeated.

The negotiation’s for Pacquiao Vs. Mayweather keep hitting snags, and it appears as if the public is growing tired of the waiting as well. News is however that Mayweather still may say “yes” to the deal. Pacquiao has publicly stated that he has other options other than Mayweather, and he is right. Timothy Bradley is one of them, and deserves a shot. Bradley is a class act guy who trains hard, and all he does is win.
In the way that Bradley has won his last few fights, the guy looks very dangerous. His destruction over Nate Campbell, and his beat down over Lamont Peterson proved that he is every bit worthy of his world champion status.
Pacquiao Vs. Bradley would be a great match up, much better than a Cotto rematch. Timothy Bradley deserves his shot at the pound for pound king, Margarito doesn’t.
Mississippi’s Chief of Officials, Stan Nichols talked to this writer about a Bradley Vs. Pacquiao fight, ‘This would be a very good fight between two fast fighters that throw a lot of punches. Bradley likes to press the action, and we all know already what Pacquiao is capable of. Bradley is a world champion, and Pacquiao is a world champion, this is a fight that would be very competitive.”
If Floyd ducks and runs, Bradley should get his shot.
