EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW for Associated Content – Yahoo, LAS VEGAS, California, June 22, 2010 – Even Floyd
Mayweather, Jr. (won 41 (KO 25) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0) and Manny Pacquiao (won 51 (KO 38) + lost 3 (KO 2) + drawn 2) can laugh about anyone who claims to be the pound-for-pound best fighter of the world. But there is nothing funny about if you hear it from “Super” fighter of Brooklyn, New York.
“I am still pound-for-pound best fighter in the world today, and Manny Pacquiao can only be the best if he beats me,” says Zab “Super” Judah (won 38 (KO 26) + lost 6 (KO 2) + drawn 0) who is now a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada.
No doubt, Judah hurt Mayweather, Jr., who is now the No. 1 boxer in the welterweight division according to BoxRec.com, in many instances in their fight for the IBF and IBO welterweight title at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas four years ago. That’s why his utterance supports his claim and must have some element of truth, at least to his own estimation of Pacquiao.
“If Pacquiao wants to fight me at 140 pounds, then let’s do it,” Judah adds. “For drug testing, it’s up to the Nevada Athletic Commission to do its protocol.”
Judah is referring to the demand that Mayweather, Jr. has for Pacquiao about random blood draws, which may have not been clearly spelled out as to whether both parties have really agreed on specific “windows of testing”.
As we recall, on the other hand, though Judah lost that fight against Mayweather, Jr. via unanimous decision, he looked brilliant and could possibly bounced back against Mayweather, Jr. victoriously, if the rematch clause was perfected. On one hand, to some, they say Judah won that fight or just lost it by split decision. Others say it should have been a draw.
“Everyone who knows about boxing should know that I won that fight against Floyd Mayweather, Jr.,” says Judah. “I hurt him and I beat him to the punch.”
