If women ran big-time boxing, we probably wouldn’t be twiddling our thumbs waiting for the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight to be formally announced for Nov. 13.
You know it’s going to happen, I know it’s going to happen and so does every Tom, Dick and Muhammad from Michigan to Mindanao.
But only Jinkee Pacquiao, Manny’s attractive and intelligent wife, comes out and says so.
For his part, Pacman spoke to Philippine Star reporter Emmnauel Villaruel as his family relaxed on Sunday, Father’s Day, at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
Pacquiao, presumably under strict orders from General Arum, mouthed some twaddle about the money split having to be 50-50 and, if not, the hotttest match of the decade disappears
.But leave it to Lady Pacquiao to lay the truth bare.
She told the reporter that her not so chubby hubby will fight Mayweather because “there is no viable opponent out there other than Floyd.”
Now that’s an emotion Mama Mayweather (actually Mama Sinclair) could second in a heartbeat.

The men involved need to put this fight on the front burner and stop with all the unnecessary delay.
We all know Mayweather will get a financial edge based on the fact he’s an American being paid by an American TV network known as HBO.
That’s sound business practice, not discrimination against non-Americans.
Let’s stop shuffling the papers and get those signatures, boys.

Or will Lady Jinkee have to take charge?
Funny thing, on Father’s Day in Cebu, it was a wife and mother who knew best.
