So the public may know: Just who is this multi-talented, lonesome King without an entourage?

EXCLUSIVE from Filipino Celebrity Headlines Examiner, HOLLYWOOD, California – I never have enjoyed a literary task more genuinely than highlighting talented individuals. Other than Sarangani Congressman-elect Manny Pacquiao, a multi-talented and a humble family man who has the class and bearing of a celebrity tops the list as well. That is without unduly discounting his unwavering dedication for his first love profession. Conversely a man of honor and a man of formidable heart, Ed de la Vega is one of distinction every casual observer should know.

Respectfully and fondly called as Dr. Ed, he is known amongst his peers as the resolute dental political activist. He was very much involved in the fight for the rights of foreign trained dentists in California. He had a lot to do with the 1971 legislation (AB 537, Assemblyman Willie Brown Jr) that allowed foreign trained dentists to practice in the US without going back to a US dental school for additional education.

Besides being a dentist, he is also an accredited photo journalist. He has documented the biggest sports events in the US particularly boxing. His inmost fire being a writer for the largest and internationally known Pilipino boxing website, www.philboxing.com, makes him known as the fearless columnist and the most dynamic reporter he has become.

Dr Ed is also a licensed ?cut-man? for boxing and mixed martial arts in the State of California, Nevada and Texas and has been involved in five world title fights as a cut-man.

Dr Ed is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He also holds a DMD degree from the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry. He has completed a general residency at the McGill University Hospitals in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

He was a former member of the California State Board of Dental Examiners where he served for 8 long years. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Academy of Dentistry Internationale. He is also a member of the American Association of Professional Ringside Physicians.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Los Angeles Dental Society where he served as President in the year 2000. He is the first and only Filipino elected as President of the Los Angeles Dental Society, an organization of more than 1000 practicing dentists in the greater Los Angeles area.

Dr Ed is also a past President of the Southern California Filipino Dental Society, and presently it?s Executive Director. Although he has been a US citizen for more than 3 decades, he still maintains his Philippine dental license and occasionally does dentistry in the old country. He is a member of the Philippine Dental Association House of Delegates and the Las Pinas Dental Society..

Known as Dr. MouthGuard or the Mouthguard King (I must call him), Dr. Ed is the official dentist of Manny Pacquiao and a host of other Filipino boxers who lately had been bringing honor to our country through sports.

Gearing towards cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Ed is also very much involved with the American Academy for Sports Dentistry, which prompts him to diversify his practice to making mouth guards. He designs, customizes, fabricates and fits athletic mouthguards for people involved in sports, particularly contact sports like boxing and MMA.

Dr. Ed is simply a “King”. He is resolved to know. He has known much joy in his own power since the days when his writings have been the daily freshness and the delight to his readers. It is almost as if the course he must pursue is being dictated to him by the Invisible from above. He is a man of faith…faith in the old maxim of just doing what is right.
