Commendation by Filipino Celebrity Headlines Examiner, HOLLYWOOD, California, June 18, 2010 – “Just a few hours after he arrived yesterday from Canada, Manny Pacquiao was present on Day 1 of his 10-day certificate course at the Development Academy of the Philippines. Rumors say though Pacquiao went home disappointed when he learned that sex education wouldn?t be part of the curriculum,” Loi Reyes Landicho, the genius of the Professional Heckler and a political humor blogger from Makati City, has written on his blog. “Something odd happened on Day 1 of Manny Pacquiao?s 10-day certificate course at the Development Academy of the Philippines in Pasig City. Pacquiao refused to leave the classroom? and waited for the final bell.”
Such satirical humor was prompted by Landicho as World boxing champion and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao started attending on June 14 for a 10-day certificate course in Development Legislation and Governance at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) at Ortigas Center in Pasig City.
Pacquiao, according to ABS-CBN news, studies to enhance his knowledge of good public governance to prepare for his congressional duties.
Meanwhile, Landicho finds a problem with his political jokes: “They help them elected.”
Last October 9, 2009, this Landico’s blog, The Professional Heckler, won the Best Humor Blog Award at the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards (PBA)besting 10 other nominees. It was the second win a row for this blog following last year?s recognition as the Best Entertainment Blog.
Landicho’s site further reveals he was affiliated with a high-end FM station for 12 years. Then, he decided to quit his radio job in August 2009 and now a freelance writer. He was part of a political talk show in a major network, and currently writes for two entertainment programs in another major network.
