Future Congresswoman Jinkee Pacquiao?

MANILA, Philippines ? Does Jinkee Pacquiao, the better half of boxing superstar and Sarangani Congressman Manny Pacquiao, have political ambitions of her own?

Jinkee, who completed a 10-day legislative course at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) with her husband on Friday, told media that she will put what she has learned to good use ?when the need arises?.

?Maybe, after Manny’s term… yeah. Kasi yung sinasuggest nila, at least meron akong knowledge,? she said with a laugh.

Just like Pacquiao and his staff, Jinkee received a certificate for participating in the executive coaching class, which covered parliamentary procedures and the legislative cycle.

The short course also gave them a better understanding of the national budget process and local development.

?Natutunan ko ang duty and responsibilities as the congressman’s spouse. Kelangan may knowledge din tayo kung anong trabaho ng congressman,? she said.

Jinkee said that although politics is far from her mind, it is always good to be prepared.

?Wala pa naman sa isip ko. At, least prepared ako,? she said.

Merely joking?

For his part, Pacquiao said the executive course taught Jinkee what her role will be as a congressional spouse.

?Ang gusto nya is magkaron ng kaalaman about sa congressional spouse. Siyempre, pag tinanong siya o isama sya, may alam siya,? said the pound-for-pound king.

When asked about his wife?s own political plans, Pacquiao said he will support whatever Jinkee decides. He, however, claimed that politics isn?t Jinkee?s cup of tea.

?OK lang, kung ano desisyon nya?Pero ?di sya mahilig sa ganun,? said Pacquiao.
