Manny Pacquiao doesn’t do much trash talking. In fact, he hardly does much talking at all in the media. But, when he does make a bold statement about an opponent, the public’s ears perk up and listen. In a recent interview, Manny Pacquiao said that Floyd Mayweather Jr is scared of him. In fact, this is the second time Manny has said this about Floyd Jr in the last month. ?Right now, it?s not yet clear. He?s afraid to fight me,? Pacquiao, Freeman If you remember, last month Manny said that if Floyd Jr made another excuse then it would be a sign that Floyd Jr is afraid of him. Floyd’s latest demands have Manny firing back that Floyd is a coward. Floyd is demanding a 60/40 split in the fight purse. Manny is demanding a 50/50 split and promptly rejected Floyd’s proposal. Recently, Floyd Mayweather Sr even acknowledged that Manny would have to accept the 60/40 split if he wants to make the fight happen. But Manny isn’t the only one from Team Pacquiao who’s claimed that Floyd Jr is scared. Trainer Freddie Roach has stated numerous times that Floyd is afraid of the PacMan. “It definitely was his back door out. He’s afraid to get that loss on his record. He’s very proud of his undefeated record. And I think he had second thoughts about this one.” Roach, Sporting News (1/15/10) In a December, 2009 interview with Doghouse Boxing Freddie Roach was quoted as saying that Mayweather is just scared of Manny Pacquiao. But Freddie’s beliefs of Floyd’s fear goes back even further then last December. In an article from May, 2009, Freddie declared that FLoyd Jr was scared because he rather fight Marquez than Manny. “You know, Mayweather, he could’ve fought Manny Pacquiao. He just had to wait one day. I think he’s scared of Pacquiao,” Roach, Grand Rapids Press (5/3/2009). Unfortunately for Floyd Jr, in addition to Team Pacquiao, there are numerous other fighters who also say that Floyd is scared and ducks opponents.
