Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao revealed that he?s working on a ?planned technique? against Erik ?El Terrible? Morales when they meet in a blockbuster fight card at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada but it will remain a secret until they get it on, in the ring, on March 19 on a blockbuster HBO pay-per-view fight card.
In an exclusive interview for Viva Sports, Pacquiao said: ?We are working on the technique we will use against Morales but we will not make it public. It will remain a secret and will be known only when we enter the ring.?
Ever since trainer Freddie Roach flew to the Philippines to prepare Pacquiao for the Dec. 11 clash with Thailand?s Fahsan 3K Battery, he looked ahead to the scheduled fight against world champion Juan Manuel Marquez on Feb. 26 and worked daily to develop Pacquiao?s right.
Roach said Pacquiao?s right could be ?even more devastating than his left? if he pivoted properly like he sometimes did. Aside from developing his right, Pacquiao revealed he would work on his inherent advantage, which is his speed and will also perfect his head movement so he would be hard to hit.
Pacquiao admitted that the cancellation of the Feb. 26 rematch with Marquez was ?very good for me? adding that he now had ?a much longer time to prepare? for Morales.
On the day of his departure for Los Angeles, Pacquiao hinted that the monthlong celebrations after the Fahsan fight and the late nights would have forced him to cram to get into shape for Marquez, who had been training since November.
At the same time, the Filipino southpaw said he was not concerned at moving up in weight to fight Morales at 130 pounds because he stressed ?that is my real weight and when I fight at 126, I have to reduce a little.?
Pacquiao refused to make any predictions except to say it will be ?a very good fight. The whole world is excited to watch this fight, so don?t miss it. It will be one of the most memorable fights of the year.?
