It’s 2:22pm… START THE CLOCK!
— So, some of you may have noticed that I’ve been missing in action for a little bit. Despite what David Lee might say, I did NOT have a nervous breakdown due to the fact that Floyd Mayweather beat Shane Mosley. I thought Mosley had what it took, and he did, according to round two, but lost focus on the game plan and went looking for the knockout. Bad move. Anyway, I blogged about what happened during my absence… if you’re interested, take a look.
— Who’s my number one pound-for-pound? Pacquiao. And Floyd. If there’s one time where a tie is not only accurate but absolutely appropriate, it’s the number one p4p tie between Pacquiao and Mayweather.
— Manny… Congressman Pacquiao… I beg you… I understand your point about the drug testing. I get it. I’m with you. But we’re at the point where you just have to take the damn tests. You have to. I know, you’re a better person then that, and you’re clean. I get it. But if this is the only thing standing between you and Floyd… this isn’t about you anymore. It’s not about Floyd. It’s about the SPORT. Please take the test.
— Williams/Cintron… was it a dive? I dunno, I’ve watched it a couple of times now. I can see how both sides have a point. Call Robert Stack, because I think this one goes under “Unsolved Mysteries.”
— I’m not sold on Amir Khan yet. Sorry, British people, I’m not. He improved greatly against Malignaggi from the last time I saw him. You know what that proves to me? That Freddie Roach will be Trainer of the Year again. Put him against Bradley, Maidana, or the like, let’s see what he can do then.
— I hear Kendall Holt wants to come back. Khan/Holt?
— Izzy/Rafa IV… I can’t wait. At the same time, I pray for both of their safety. They both gave 200% in their past three fights. I’m afraid how this one might turn out.
— Prediction for Vazquez/Marquez IV? No. I just want to enjoy this one.
— So I’m eating Hot Pockets right now. I can’t help but to think of Jim Gaffigan every time I do now.
— Andre Berto thinks he’s being ducked? I can’t buy that. I can’t. Floyd beats Berto. Pacquaio beats Berto. Shane Mosley beats Berto (yes he does). Andre Berto is the lesser of the welterweight champions. He’s great, I love his combination of speed and power, but at some point he’s gotta rise above. Until then, he’s done a pretty good job of chunking up foreign beltholders. Try Vyacheslav Senchenko (WBA Regular champion) or Dejan Zavec (IBF).
