And now the words millions of Floyd Mayweather fans have been waiting to hear:
“Down goes Pacquiao! Down goes Pacquiao!”
Next sound you hear is that of his ardent Flomos, meaning Mayweather’s so-called Mafia, rejoicing.
But, alas and alack (whatever that means), Manny is only down for a short count, felled they tell us by acid reflux and a small ulcer. Pacman crony Jake Joson also indicated exhaustion, in the wake of his smashing ballot box KO over billionaire Roy Chiongbian in Sarangani, might also account for the fighter’s weakened state.
Reports indicate that the Pinoy Idol and soon to be sworn in Congressmanny, the first electoral leg in which may well be a march to Malacanang Palace once he is old enough (age 40), will be released from a Metro Manila hospital, Cardinal Santos, Monday or Tuesday.
Even his worrywart Mom, Aling “Bling Bling” Dionesia, just gifted by her doting sonny boy with a $22,000 necklace for her 62st birthday, told the media the hospital stay is no biggie, Smalls.
But is it? You know the old joke about death being God’s way of telling you to slow down?
With zero medical knowledge in general or as to Da Pacman specifically, I really wonder.

I left General Santos City, after a two week stay to cover the election, amazed at the difference between the out of competition lifestyle contrast between Megamanny and Mayweather.
Manny literally burns the candle at both ends. He is as nocturnal as your neighborhood vampire which I suppose does not mean that much for a 31 going on 32 year old. Mayweather is also said to be a nighthawk in Las Vegas.
My concern, and I don’t mean to overstate it, is that Pacquiao has too many irons in the fire. I know, I know, we’re always told what a master he is of time management and multitasking.
But doesn’t there come a point when there is a “multi overload” in multitasking?
When not in training, Pacquiao steers clear of anything related to boxing training.
Unlike many fighters, including Mayweather and Shane Mosley, he does not have a gym with a ring at his mansion or somewhere nearby.
