There’s some joy in Pacland this Sunday.
Paulie Maliganggi’s big mouth is closed for repairs.
Last Monday, Manny Pacquiao took a landslide Congressional victory in Sarangani over Roy Chiongbian, billionaire and odds on electoral favorite.
On Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, Pacland “villain” and a leading accuser in the Pacman uses illegal drugs chorus, Malignaggi was landslide loser as well.
Amir Khan, with Pacman coaches Coach Freddie Roach and Alex Ariza in his corner, had things his way from start to finish in posting an 11th round TKO over Motormouth Malignaggi.
It was a solid if unspectacular American ring debut for Kid Khan, the Frank Warren protege who defected to Golden Boy.
“He controlled the fight with jab like we planned, it was the key factor. He stuck with our very good game plan. I gave him the green light to finish him and he did,” Roach said.

Put simply, Malignaggi wrote a check with his big mouth that he his backside could not cash.
Khan, 23, was younger, faster, stronger and easily proved the big difference in class between the two fighters.
“Everything came off the jab, it was all working,” a gracious Khan said.
Brooklyn resident Malignaggi, age 29, was hard pressed to explain an effort in which he really won one of the first 10 rounds.

“I don’t know…I’m getting older…but Amir came and he fought a very good fight.”
It took Khan a few rounds to get properly warmed up but, when he did, Malignaggi had zero answers.
He’s garnered some nice paydays, including this one, but now Maliganggi goes into the Losers Bracket and is unlikely to gain another HBO slot like this one.
Referee Steve Smoger halted it, quite properly, at 1:25 of the penultimate round.
