WHERE IS Manny Pacquiao?
The fighter?s wife Jinkee yesterday sought the help of friends in the boxing community to assist her in getting in touch with Pacquiao after being told that the Filipino lefty “will be away for two days.”
Jinkee said the front desk at the Vagabond Inn in Hollywood, California, told her that Pacquiao told him that he?s going out of town.
“There was no other information given to me by the person on duty when I called,” said Jinkee, who had talked with Pacquiao yesterday morning.
“When I spoke to him, Manny told me he was eating a buffet dinner and promised me that he?d call back after he eats. I don?t know where he was. I even thought that maybe he is at the (LAX) airport. I really have no idea because he did not call back.”
“When I tried to get in touch through his mobile phone, there was no more response and there was only the answering machine that received my call.”
“It was at this time when I called up the Vagabond Inn,” added Jinkee, who leaves for Los Angeles with three-year-old son Emmanuel Jr. on Thursday for a two-week vacation.
Pacquiao?s business manager Rod Nazario could not be reached for comment.
Pacquiao is slated to challenge Erik Morales on March 19 in a pay-per-view showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao, who is a 6-5 favorite against the Mexican, arrived in the US on Jan. 8 with training assistant Buboy Fernandez. He began working out at the Wild Card Boxing Club owned and operated by his trainer Freddie Roach two days after his arrival.
Top Rank of Bob Arum and M&M Sports of Murad Muhammad have guaranteed Pacquiao a purse of a $1.75 million.
