I guess there’s truth in the phrase, ‘when it ‘Reigns’, it pours. Things just seem to keep coming Mark Munoz’s way as of late.
Not too long ago, Munoz won ‘Fight of the Night’ honors at UFC 108 for his gutsy come-from-behind victory over Kendall Grove and also successfully opened up his own MMA gym called Reign MMA at Lake Forrest, in Southern California.
This Saturday perhaps will be the biggest one yet. Munoz will be inducted into the California State Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Munoz is a 2-time California state wrestling champion and back-to-back NCAA division 1 All-American wrester during his college days at Oklahoma State. The man called ‘The Filipino Wrecking Machine’ is also the first ever full-blooded Filipino to win a National Championship at the Division 1 level.
At 6-feet and a walking weight of about 200 pounds, the 100% Filipino is also 110% about hard work, dedication and perseverance which has earned him the respect of MMA legends like the Nogueira brothers, Randy Couture, Urijah Faber and several others who train, support and back him up.
Munoz’s next fight is tentatively scheduled for August in UFC 117 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland where Munoz has a huge fan base.
