One of two boxers set to fight in Yankee Stadium’s first-ever boxing match, says it will be an honor.
Three-time world champion and so-called “Pride of Puerto Rico,” Miguel Cotto, hung out Wednesday with some of the Bronx’s hometown hitters, ahead of his bout on June 5.
He’ll go up against super welterweight champion Yuri Foreman, in what’s being called the “Stadium Slugfest.”
“For me be part of history here in Yankee Stadium is a legendary place where 27 time world champion Yankees play every season, every year for the bravo of their fans, for me it’s more than a pleasure,” Cotto said.
Cotto has held a world title every year since 2004 and could extend that streak if he beats Foreman.
