Monday night might be the earliest anybody knows anything for sure about the congressional election in Sarangani that has a good part of the boxing industry watching closely as it concerns Manny Pacquiao and future paychecks of many people in between.
Promoter Bob Arum, who met and spoke for some time with former president George W. Bush in the luxury box of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones back on January 9th at Cowboys Stadium, admitted to being impressed with the former president.
Being a Texan myself, I have followed the Bush family for years. I was very impressed that “W” admitted to being a Manny Pacquiao fan and hoped he would fight at Cowboys Stadium as he eventually did and this leads me to a favorite quote of “W” that has nothing to do with anything but if it would help, I pass it on to Manny.
“As we say in Texas,” says Bush, “Vote early and often.”
So if this helps, I pass it on to Team Pacquiao.

A case could be made that the place most boxing journalists should be is alongside Bob Arum in General Santos City, or wherever in Sarangani the election takes them, following Manny Pacquiao in these final days of this historic election.
