Manager and trainer, George Peterson, thinks so much of his former three-time world champion, Paul Williams (38-1, 27 knockouts), of Augusta, Ga., that he believes Williams would handle both Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs), and,Floyd Mayweather (41-0, 25 KOs) with ease.
But Williams must first get by Saturday night’s junior middleweight (154 pounds) clash with former titlist, Kermit Cintron (32-2-1, 28 KOs), a 30-year-old from Houston, Tex., with a two-bout winning streak. They’ll meet at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Peterson called last Saturday’s unanimous decision victory by Mayweather over WBA welterweight (147 pounds) champion, Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KOs), “very strange.”
