Manny Pacquiao as Seen From The Standpoint of Mayweather?s Verbally Stinging Jabs

In the light of his returning remarks against the mountains of defamation being hurled at him, it is not hard to deduce that Manny Pacquiao is truthfully a human being of refined and cultured character.

Our inner most character is proved often by how we compose ourselves in response to adverse criticisms being lodged by other people against us. So to speak, our reactions to personal censures tell many things as to where we are on the opposite sides of the high social fence separating the base and the noble in character as inhabitants of a cultivated and polished society.

A very pertinent case in point is that of the hottest boxing commodity of the modern era, the current pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao. His circumstance could very well fit into becoming the recipient of the century’s most colossal but baseless slandering aggression against a person. Sailing smoothly across the harsh sea of boxing weight divisions, Pacquiao?s integrity as a great boxing participant is now under siege ? albeit by some apparently misguided few ? because of the unfounded accusations against him by Floyd Mayweather Sr., father of Pacquiao?s immediate rival to the pound-for-pound throne, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Singing the same tune, the family accused Pacquiao of fueling his natural athletic body with steroids; soon after it proved to be to be too much of a roadblock towards the gigantic and most anticipated fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

The super fight cancelled, Pacquiao moved and went on to etch on stone as the first fighter ever to capture seven world championships in as many divisions. He would later become the recipient of the fighter of the decade award. Mayweather would protest it, citing lines of flimsy arguments that in his opinion were enough to warrant the decision of the awarding committee to have given him the award instead. Mayweather argued Pacquiao holds two knockout defeats in his resume compared to his immaculate record. Sure but the integrity of a boxer?s record is evidently dependent on the quality of opponents faced and the entertainment value of his performances; applying it in the Mayweather?s case, he is surely miles away from Pacquiao, as sure as an apple falling unto the earth.

Up until now, the proud American continues his insinuation about Pacquiao juicing performance-enhancing drugs of sorts, although, the latter is in the meantime off from boxing as he is busy for his fight for a seat in the Philippine House of Representatives. On the side note, Mayweather?s mountain of demeaning statements on Pacquiao is working to the advantage of the Filipino; Mayweather?s antagonism falling in similar manner as in a good novel, is characterizing Pacquiao.

The most treasured citizen of the Philippines being stoned, he instead retaliates with bread. Pacquiao in the midst of an armada of verbal jabs has nothing to say anything astringent to the ears of the Mayweathers. There?s hardly a line from Pacquiao, questioning Mayweather?s achievements and contributions to the sport which appears to be worth the scrutiny as per the record, except for the weak perfect wins in 40 fights. Pacquiao simply defends himself in the most civilized and professional manner as possible by refusing to engage Mayweathers unethically with their business of besmirching people. All he had to do was to file a defamation suit against his below-the-belt detractors and made it known that Mayweather was not simply willing to fight him (Pacquiao) for fear of his (Mayweather) perfect record might finally come to a halt ?the hard way, possibly by knockout.

Hence in the light of his returning remarks against the mountains of defamation being hurled at him, it is not hard to deduce that Manny Pacquiao is truthfully a human being of refined and cultured character. He is a true champion that lives up with it – in and outside the harsh arena of life that he chose to join in order to make an account of himself, his people, and his country.
