?Your time is limited, so don?t waste it living someone else?s life. Don?t be trapped by dogma ? which is living with the results of other people?s thinking. Don?t let the noise of other?s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.? ? Steve Jobs.
Tungod, Inabanga, Bohol ? I?d probably get some flak with this piece, especially from those loyalists who want their respective bets to get the prestigious Pacquiao analogy. Nonetheless, you will have your chance to voice out your own opinions at the bottom part of this piece, be creative, and perhaps cite some parallelisms of your own? but for now, I?ll voice out mine and see if you agree or not.

?Pretty Boy? Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Benigno ?Noynoy? Aquino III. Both of these personalities have something in common. When we mention any of these names, words like untainted, unblemished, clean, or immaculate almost always comes to mind. Mayweather has a flawless record, while Senator Aquino boasts of a saintly figure, incapable of corruption. What?s unfortunate, though, is the fact that despite Mayweather?s unbeaten record, he?s been relatively untested in terms of his level of competition. Nonetheless, his upcoming faceoff with Mosley is a major step up and should be an interesting bout, to say the least. The same can also be said about Noynoy on the political arena. While he?s probably been corruption-free, his nonperformance in congress, both as a member of the senate and earlier at the house of representatives, with zero authored laws is definitely not something to brag about.

Villar, Jr. Mosley and Villar are what we call as achievers. Mosley, a multi-division champion, has fought some of the prominent names in boxing. His conquest of erstwhile welterweight champ Antonio ?Loaded Hands? Margarito basically earned him this rare chance of becoming the first man to put a dent on Mayweather?s spotless record. However, Mosley?s reported and proven use of performance enhancing drugs (steroids) has put a cloud of doubt on his achievements. Senator Villar is a successful businessman and politician, considered as one of the richest people in the Philippines. As member of congress, he has authored numerous laws, both as a congressional representative and as a senator, not to mention earning the speakership in both houses of congress. Like Mosley, however, his controversial C5 Extension project has put Villar on the hot seat of criticism, accused of using public funds to help improve his personal business interests.
Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao and Gilbert ?Gibo? Teodoro, Jr. By now, you?re probably wondering why Pacquiao wasn?t coupled with his personal friend Villar, whom he supports. I?ll pass up on the rags-to-riches story line and rather focus on the character instead. Pacquiao is a gentleman inside and outside the ring. Though he usually leaves his opponents bruised, bloodied, and badly beaten, he always does that within the confines of sportsmanship. In addition, Pacquiao never talks ill about his opponents and only speaks of trying to do his best to win and the ever famous ?make the people happy?. In this regard, Teodoro is of the same class. He is well-respected both by supporters and political rivals alike. Gibo, as he is fondly called, never engages in mudslinging that is quite embarrassingly employed by the Villar and Aquino camps. His campaign strategy is positive and principled right from the very start. Pacquiao is accused of using PEDs, which is downright ridiculous, especially considering the manner and dedication at which he trains. Gibo, on the other hand, is also accused of being a puppet, which is also utterly preposterous, considering how smart and wise he is. I ask this question and try to put yourself in Gibo?s shoes if and when he wins the presidential derby? would you let GMA, or anybody for that matter, dictate you now that you already hold the highest position of the land? Your answer is as good as mine! It?s probably quite apparent already who I?m voting for this coming elections.
