Los Angeles – Times are rough all over, from Southern California to the Eastern sea board, many boxing fans cannot part with the $50 or so dollars necessary to purchase world class pay per view events such as Saturday night’s scrap between undefeated Floyd Mayweather Junior and Shane Mosley.
When facing higher fuel costs, possible unemployment, an upside-down mortgage, and other financial woes, boxing takes a necessary back seat in the budget of fans.
Luckily for those with a tight budget Golden Boy Promotions – the lead promoter for Mayweather – Mosley – is bringing the fight out of your living rooms and into theatres across the country at an approximate price tag of $20.00.
Fandango will let you search for theatres in your local area presenting the big fight Saturday night, just follow this link.
Golden Boy Promotions rolled boxing back to the movie theatres this past Fall when Mayweather defeated Juan Manuel Marquez and I took the lower price of a movie ticket over footing the more expensive pay per view.
The presentation at the movie theatre was excellent in terms of video and audio and the atmosphere was entertaining. Instead of sitting at home, alone, or with a handful of casual boxing fans, the movie theatre was full of diehards who sat on the edge of their seats as the action unfolded between Marquez and Mayweather.
Tough times, yes, but you can scratch your boxing itch at the local movie theatre. ***
