Arreola – Adamek to electrify heavyweight landscape

Los Angeles – Some boxing fans and historians argue that the last truly entertaining elite heavyweight fight took place in our city of Angels on June 21, 2003 when Lennox Lewis hung on to stop Vitali Klitschko on cuts.

Since then Klitschko and his brother Wladimir have ruled the heavyweight class with an iron clad, but sleep inducing fist. The big boys of boxing have not come close to producing a Fight of the Year candidate during the last ten years.

Tomorrow night at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Southern California fight fans might once again witness drama in the sport’s prized division when Chris Arreola (28-1, 25 KOs) clashes with Poland’s Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KOs).

Neither Riverside’s Arreola or Adamek have spent much time refining their offensive skills, but instead fight by the mantra, “The best defense is a good offense.”

Arreola, nor Adamek, have the size or abilities to reign as the sports best big man, but their offense first styles is conducive to in the ring friction which leaves lasting impressions in the minds of fans.

Do not expect a 12 round struggle, but instead a four to five round display of human rock ’em, sock ’em robots with wild swings in momentum.

The bout is being carried by premium cable network HBO, but tickets are still available by visiting Citizens Business Bank Arena’s website, or their box office.

Angulo vs. Julio headlinds undercard

A scheduled twelve-round junior middleweight struggle between Joel Julio and Fernando Angulo will serve as the evenings main support.

Los Angeles up and coming featherweight Rico Ramos will tangle with Sante Fe Spring’s Reynaldo Lopez.

Southern California fan favorite and Teamsters supported lightweight John Molina will attempt to put his career back on track against Cuban Jose Antonio Izquierdo.
