Former Makati councilor and top-notch boxing referee Ferdinand Estrella has been chosen to be the third man on the ring when Ring Magazine featherweight king Manny Pacquiao tangles with Thai brawler Fahsan 3K Battery in a 12-round International Boxing Federation eliminator tomorrow headlining the “Yanig sa Taguig” mega-card.
Estrella, who also acted as judge to the WBA featherweight title defense of Indonesian Chris John against Jose “Cheo” Rojas only last December 3, has had some 10 world title assignments to his credit, as well as close to 30 regional assignments so far mostly by the World Boxing Association and Pan-Asia Boxing Association of which he is closely associated.
Games and Amusements Board chairman Eduardo Villanueva, who will supervise today’s bout, has also announced the names of the three judges who will pen the bout, namely: Bruce McTavish of New Zealand, Epifanio Almeda, and Ricardo Canlas.
