Erik Morales keeps dumping on Manny Pacquiao

It seems as if at every turn figures within the sport of boxing look to discredit Manny Pacquiao.

The baseless allegations of Pacquiao using performance enhancing drugs are well documented, now one of the many Mexican legends Pacquiao buried en route to his position as boxing’s pound for pound best is taking verbal pot-shots at the Filipino.

During ESPN Deportes “Golpe a Golpe” broadcast on Friday, where Morales was in-studio along side old nemesis Marco Antonio Barrera, boxing fan Norberto Zarate sent in the following question via e-mail, “Who has been your most difficult opponent.”

In my mind the answer was simple, Manny Pacquiao, but Morales’ answer was different. After all, Morales was pretty much retired by Pacquiao after two knock-out losses.

“Not because he is standing in front of me, but Barrera,” said Morales. “They were more difficult fights. With Pacquiao’s fights, I was having a lot of problems. There were a lot of issues. Pacquiao is a fighter with a lot of deficiencies. The Barrera bouts were more difficult.”

This goes on the back of comments made during an interview on The Boxing Truth Radio, where Morales stated that, “Pacquiao is not a true 147 pound fighter,” and “His size and power is not enough to deal with real 147 pound fighters.”

Sounds like a whole bunch of sour grapes from El Terible.
