DAVAO CITY — World-renowned boxing trainer Freddie Roach said that Pacquiao stands a good chance of scoring a knockout over Fahsan 3k Battery of Thailand whom he fights in a 12-round match this December 11 dubbed as “Yanig sa Taguig”.
“All we need is to stay focus and concentrate on improving our right hook which will be considered as a key factor for a possible knockout,” Roach said.
Roach, Pacquiao?s trainer, flew in Tuesday from Los Angeles and came at the Davao City Boxing Center along with Pacquiao, yesterday.
Roach was dismayed over reports that Pacquiao is taking his Thai opponent lightly and has been staying late playing billiards in the midst of his training.
“He should get over these distractions and focus on his training. This Fahsan came here to win and we must do something about it,” he added.
Yesterday, the southpaw Pacquiao sparred with RP lightweight champ Fernando Montilla and former RP no. 1 lightweight Christopher Saluday for four rounds each.
Pacquiao also donated two sets of boxing gloves, a punchmate and ring foams to the Davao City boxing center.
“I know that Davao City has no adequate facility that is why I am donating these equipments for their usage.
I want young boxers to train with these equipments so that they could reach their dreams as future boxers of Davao City,” said Pacquiao who is fighting Fahsan as a tune-up for his title rematch with WBA-IBF featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico next year.
