The story in pictures: One last look at Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey

At the moment we are just mere hours away from the highly anticipated WBO Welterweight title bout between champion Manny Pacquiao and challenger Joshua Clottey. The showdown, taking place at Dallas Cowboys Stadium, has been covered top to bottom from a myriad of angles and rightfully so, as it pits the world’s premier fighter against one the top five fighters in the division.

Following Pacquiao’s fallout with Floyd Mayweather due to the well publicized Olympic style drug testing debacle, a showdown with Clottey was looked at as somewhat of a parting gift by some but slowly but surely the bout began picking up steam. Confusion in Clottey’s corner lead some to believe that he wouldn’t be able to remain focused for the contest but from all reports Clottey’s desire has been on point and he weighed in at the Welterweight limit of 147 pounds yesterday.

Pacquiao was said to have had a solid training camp as well out in Los Angeles, as a collective group of reporters and photographers were able to recount his regimen. Pacquiao’s camp for Miguel Cotto had its share of drama and controversy but it is surely a sign of relief that everything ran smoothly this time around. Yesterday Pacquiao came in a trim and ready 145 and ? pounds and seems relaxed heading into yet another huge showdown.

With so much having already been said about this potentially great fight, I found it fitting to take one last look at each man through their photographs over the years. Click on the collage to read more about the strengths of both fighters, their mindsets, and a final prediction for tonight’s contest…
