Distar is a stablemate of the ?Filipino Destroyer? Fahsan 3K Battery, who will collide with the consensus people?s featherweight champion of the world Manny Pacquiao in the main attraction of the multi-million, blockbuster slugfest backed up my SMART, Talk ?N Txt, and Solar Sports.
In a report by Boxingscene.com, Jimmy Chaichotchuang, the manager of Distar and Fahsan, said that Distar is a very good fight with a strong punch.
?Distar is one of my good fighters.He?s ready to take on Gorres,? said Chaichotchuang of Distar, who reportedly holds an impressive 12-2 record with 11 wins by knockout.
American promoter Murad Muhammad earlier wanted to pit the Mandaue City-native Gorres with either an Argentine or Mexican ringster, but the plan was scuttled due to unknown reasons.
Gorres, who carries a 17-1-1 win-loss-record with 10KOs, returned recently from Los Angeles, where he underwent a strict training regimen at the famed Wild Card Gym in Hollywood under the watchful eyes of ?Trainer of the Year? awardee Freddie Roach.
Roach, who was very impressed with the fighting skills of the 22-year-old Gorres, will be coming over to Manila to act as Pacquiao?s chier cornerman in the Fahsan bout.
Also to be featured in the keenly-awaited fight card is Pacquiao?s younger brother Bobby, who will put his RP super featherweight crown on the line against the power-hitting RP ranked No. 2 Dexter Delada of Rex ?Wakee? Salud Stable.
