Manny Pacquiao could knock-out Joshua Clottey violently, win a judges’ decision, or even possibly lose on Saturday night in Dallas, Texas and have a public relations nightmare on his hands any which way.
Thanks to the likes of Floyd Mayweather Senior, Floyd Mayweather Junior, Roger Mayweather, and other boxing characters, Manny Pacquiao’s name has been linked to possible performance enhancing drug use with no actual evidence.
So going into Saturday night, Pacquiao’s image could continue to decay – regardless of his performance.
Those boxing fans who feel Pacquiao is a drug cheat, and there are many, will have a “logical” conclusion to any result against Pacquiao.
If Pacquiao batters Clottey over several rounds for a knock-out, or destroys him in four rounds, the critics will say Pacquiao’s performance against a full-fledged welterweight is evidence of his continued drug use.
If Pacquiao looks less than impressive, these same naysayers will say Pacquiao got off of the drugs due to all the heat he was facing and explains a possible Saturday night letdown.
And if Pacquiao were to lose, you can only imagine the peanut gallery’s comments.
Thanks to the Mayweather Clan, Pacquiao finds himself in between a rock and a hard spot.
