Snowmageddon continues in New York.
My trip to sunny California has been delayed and I just had the passing thought that Manny Pacquiao rival Juan Manuel Marquez would not fare well at a ski resort.
“Don’t eat the yellow snow,” is an admonition every child learns but Mexican Marquez drinks it as a training aide.
Maybe he plans to market the idea and call it “P.U.,” I don’t know.
But one thing is becoming as clear as a urine stream from someone who drinks gallons of water and only water.
And that it is that Floyd Mayweather and his minions are way off track in their random blood testing campaign.
No less an authority that Dr. Don Catlin, founder of the UCLA Olympic Analytical Lab and the LA-based Anti-Research, told the New York Daily News (reporter Christian Red) that he seriously questions how effective the blood test used by Mayweather/Golden Boy favorites World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USA-DA) really is.

Catlin, who gets funding from the NLF and Major League Baseball to develop a reliable HGH urine test, told the newspaper he doubts the pro leagues “would jettison their current drug-testing programs” in favor of blood testing and more out of competition testing to administer a test that may not uncover ANY cheaters.
The WADA and USA-DA blood test has been available since the 2004 Athens Olympics and the “capture rate” has been dismal.
British rugby player Terry Newton, just banned from his sport for two years, is the only athlete to have tested positive for HGH under this regimen.

“I think the whole issues is going to fester until there’s a urine test,” Catlin said. “I just cannot see sport, professional or otherwise or Olympics, rebuilding their system based on blood tests.”
Catlin said doing them in the Olympics is easy.
“It’s easy. There are plenty of resources and equipment and people and concentrated protocols. “We can get the job done in the Olympics. But in the regular testing, year in and year out, short notice testing , blood just isn’t a part of it.”
Catlin has had three year grants from MLB and the NFL but said he needs more money.
“We’re not getting very far, very fast,” Catlin admitted.
If they are as smart as they think they are Mayweather and his minions might want to abandon the blood exam demands.
The stream on drug testing is clear.
The stream is yellow and not red.
