An overwhelming number of fight fans have indicated they want world super featherweight champion Erik Morales to defend his title against featherweight People?s Champion Manny Pacquiao in an ongoing worldwide Internet poll conducted by the respected Web site BoxingScene.com.
In answer to the question ?Which fight do you really want?,? 71.38 percent voted for a Pacquiao-Morales showdown while 14.79 percent said they would want a rematch between Pacquiao and World Boxing Association/International Boxing Federation featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao and Marquez battled to a controversial draw last May in which one judge admitted he made a mistake in scoring the first round, which cost the Filipino the victory. Pacquiao decked Marquez three times in the very first round but a judge scored it 10-7 for the Filipino southpaw, instead of 10-6.
A rematch between Pacquiao and legendary Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera garnered 6.86 percent of the votes cast.
Pacquiao scored a devastating 11th-round TKO over Barrera last Nov. 15, 2003 in San Antonio, Texas. The Mexican, after bragging that he was ready to face Pacquiao and avenge his loss, backed off and instead agreed to fight Morales for a third time.
