Guess who’s coming to dinner? Well he’s not at the dinner table yet, but he’s banging on the door of the Mayweather residence with his fork and knife. Firstly, lets all say a prayer for the beautiful people of Haiti who are in a really bad situation due to a devastating earthquake. World champion Andre Berto as many of you know has a lot of family down there, and we all need to say a prayer for him and his family.
This opens the door wide open for a Floyd Mayweather Jr “vs” Shane Mosley fight, a fight that would give the former pound for pound king some respect. The respect that he could earn by finally taking on a worthy opponent like Mosley is something that his legacy desperately needs. With the recent train wreck between himself and Pacquiao due to steroid allegations, and slander lawsuits, an opportunity to step up and take on Shane Mosley would be….well it would be “Money.”
How stupid would it be for Mayweather to turn his back on a bout against Shane Mosley? Really stupid. A defeat over Mosley sets up another run at Pacquiao, and this time he would be coming into it with a new hammer. A victory over Mosley going into a fight against Pacquiao changes the dynamics. On the flip side of the coin, a victory for Shane Mosley sets up his 20 million dollar payday to fight Pacquiao. This fight has an awful lot of importance for both fighters to consider.
So let us see if the powers that be can be successful, and make this fight. The powers that be sure did a good job destroying Pacquiao “vs” Mayweather, so let us see if they can redeem themselves and put together Mayweather “vs” Mosley. The fans deserve it, and Mayweather desperately needs it. It’s too bad that something as horrible as a deadly earthquake had to happen in order to set up the possibility of this fight happening. Nevertheless, the possibility is now a real one. So, the question is this…..Will Floyd man up and pick on someone his own size? Time will certainly tell.
