Marco Antonio Barrera?s resounding victory over Paulie Ayala Sunday meant only one thing: it officially paves the way for serious negotiations for an upcoming rematch between Barrera and Manny Pacquiao.
And none other than Home Box Office (HBO) is allegedly ?interested? in staging the rematch between the two featherweight titans.
Rod Nazario, Pacquiao?s business manager, said he wants his ward to face the winner of the Barrera-Ayala bout.
Barrera overwhelmed Ayala, knocking out the Texan at the 2:34 mark of the ninth round in a scheduled 12-rounder in Carson City, California.
After Barrera?s win, Nazario said that talks about a possible rematch are set to begin.
