Hours ago Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports broke the news that an announcement of a May 1st Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada is on its way. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has reportedly stated that ‘all major deal points’ have been agreed upon and Iole expects a news conference to be held in New York to announce the fight soon, possibly as early as next week.
If Iole’s predictions do come true it would be a nice change of pace considering how ridiculous the antics of the recent Pacquiao-Mayweather saga escalated to. With Pacquiao having now turned his attention to Joshua Clottey we can only hope that Mayweather and Mosley find a way to produce a fitting encore in early May.
As Iole’s news hit the media the fans have reacted with their thoughts. Some people feel that the bout still won’t happen, some say that that the Las Vegas based Mayweather can prove his doubters wrong by agreeing to face Shane, while others have simply been ready for this fight for the longest.
