Mayweather Ratings Would Rob Pacquiao & Top Rank of Millions!
As pure insanity engulfs the minds of whoever thought it would be a good idea for the two biggest and brightest superstars in boxing to compete on the same night against different opponents on different broadcasts, in separate PPV’s, one fighter could easily get the upper hand if they pulled themselves off of PPV. Obviously the fight would be worth a lot of money to HBO and the subsequent PPV featuring the other fighter would get killed and lose hundreds of thousands of buys. Since there is so much bad blood between the fighters and promoters, let’s all just get really spiteful and let the hate out. Undoubtedly this is HBO’s nightmare but they might as well capitalize off of it if Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey will be an independent Top Rank PPV. This wouldn’t be the first time HBO competed with a Top Rank show and HBO seems to intentionally schedule shows on the same night as their biggest competitor, Showtime. If Mayweather pulled himself off of PPV, Top Rank and Manny Pacquiao would consequently lose millions and the Mayweather ratings would be through the roof. This move would increase Floyd Mayweather’s fan base for life. So, if this isn’t about the money anymore, let’s just make it about the hate and ruin everything altogether for the other guy. Clearly, if Goldenboy had any common sense, they would just give the HBO date to a different fighter on their roster and reschedule Floyd Mayweather, or just reschedule their HBO date entirely. It’s been done before. Considering Goldenboy owns a piece of Manny Pacquiao along with Top Rank, they stand to lose too much. Pride is a bitch, but humility can make you rich!
