Manny Pacquiao, “The People?s Featherweight Champion” yesterday picked Orient Pacific Boxing Federation junior lightweight champion Randy “Komong Bato” Suico to win his World Boxing Council elimination bout against top contender Mzonke Fana of South Africa and then go for a promised title shot against WBC champion Erik Morales.
Pacquiao told Viva Sports/Manila Standard that he had in the past sparred with Suico, the WBC No. 2 contender who had “speed, is strong and moves well.” Pacquiao said “we will all be behind Randy and we?ll pray for your success” in the crucial bout on May 29 (Manila Time) where a victor will set the lanky Suico who is undefeated in 21 fights with 18 knockouts in line for a crack at the WBC title.
