FOR someone who has been behaving like a winner, the quip was probably hard to resist.
“We are each other’s champion!” a beaming President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo exclaimed as she raised Manny Pacquiao’s hand during a “victory party” she tendered for the boxer Saturday in Malaca?ang.
Ms Macapagal, who is leading actor Fernando Poe Jr. in the quick count of the National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel), said she would support Pacquiao’s protest against the outcome of his fight last week with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.
The fight, held in the United States, ended in a draw.
