Manny Pacquiao may have been robbed of victory in Las Vegas, but to his millions of Filipino fans, the featherweight from General Santos remains their champion as shown by the hero?s welcome that met him upon his arrival from San Francisco Thursday.
With the crowd repeatedly shouting his name in unison, Pacquiao, who was wearing dark glasses to hide his still swollen eyes, emerged from the arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Pacquiao settled for a draw with dual titleholder Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez on May 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
?Namaga agad ang kaliwa ko sa unang round dahil sa tatlong malalakas na suntok, kaya si Marquez ay nakapagpahinga sa second round. Kung hindi ay malayo na ang five rounds, nananaginip na si Marquez,? Pacquiao said at the airport.
