67 Days and counting… Pacquiao – Mayweather blowing in the wind

There are sixty seven days until March 13, 2010.

Sixty-seven days to promote, market, and beat the war drums for one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing.

Sixty-seven days for the fighter’s to get into camp and prepare for battle.

Yet, at the end of today, there is no signed contract with the names of Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather to fight.

Today all of the parties involved in promoting this grand event were holed up for eight hours in a Santa Monica office trying to hammer out agreements in relation to the now infamous drug test, Manny’s defamation law suit, and the financial stake Golden Boy Promotions has in Pacquiao’s career.

Eight hours of arbitration is a good sign, maybe the hatchets will be buried in the soft California sand soon. But as arbitration moves into Wednesday, times keeps on ticking, and the fights fans want to see slips slowly away.

If all fails, Yuri Foreman eagerly waits for Pacquiao with his 154 pound title and Paulie Malignaggi or Matthew Hatton will get the nod to challenge the undefeated Mayweather.

Tick, tock, tick, tock…
