Wednesday eye-opener: Who is to blame in Pacquiao-Mayweather feud?

Good morning.

Somebody must think the economy is going to rebound in 2010.

What else should we think on the news that fighters Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are thinking of throwing away $50 million.

Was it something he said?

Golden Boy Promotions repping Mayweather said the bout, scheduled for March 13, was in “jeopardy.”

Bob Arum of Top Rank said “the plug is pulled.”

This might be best defined as a blood feud.

There is contention over Mayweather (40-0) demanding drug testing that includes random blood and urine sampling.

Pacquiao (50-3) does not want blood drawn inside 30 days of the fight but said he would give blood before the press conference to promote the bout. (Photo by Isaac Brekken, AP) AOL Fan House’s Kevin Blackistone has Pacquiao as his athlete of the year.

Arum to Mayweather: “Stop the crap, stop being a coward, and get into the ring and fight like a man.”

Mayweather backers believe Pacquiao will prove he has something to hide if he doesn’t agree to the strict testing.

Pacquiao’s camp believes Mayweather is looking for an out in the fight and is trying to spotlight the blame elsewhere.

Everything in boxing is done with smoke and mirrors and it is entirely possible that this fight, which some experts believe will be the best matchup of the year, goes off on the March 13 date.

But if the fight is scuttled, who do you blame?
