Team Pacquiao released a statement that clearly shows just how angry Manny has become over this whole blood testing nightmare. Unheard of comments from the normally gentle and docile Pacquiao directed at team Mayweather prove just how mad he is. This entire event has created bad blood between both camps, and honestly? It’s created nothing positive for boxing. Fans have become tired of it and just want the two men to fight.
The one good thing that will come out of this, (if and when they do eventually end up fighting) is that by the time the fight date arrives, both men will be ready to kill each other. That could translate into a brawl inside of the ring. Pacquiao is clearly extremely offended and out right pissed off at Mayweather and the entire Mayweather team. We have seen what a humble nice Pacquiao has done to his opponents in the past, imagine what we may see if an angry pissed off Pacquiao enters the ring.
On the flip side, perhaps that’s what Mayweather is banking on. Floyd (love him or hate him) knows how to fight, and could benefit from an angry Pacquiao who may be suspect to making a mistake if he’s not focused. That’s not very probable, but it’s possible. Freddie Roach surely has this in mind, and will have to earn his pay by settling Manny’s anger in check before the two end up in the ring against one another.
This entire mess has angered both Pacquiao and the boxing fans, so hopefully it will resolve itself in the very near future. This is the kind of fight that boxing needs. The disaster leading up to this fight is certainly not what boxing needs.
This writer has spoken to Freddie Roach both on and off of the record, and it’s very clear that the anger within the camp toward Mayweather is very real. Team Pacquiao are appalled by the allegations of steroid usage, and have recently announced a lawsuit against Maweather for slander. This of course adds to the brewing pot of bad blood. It’s hard to imagine that this fight could eventually get done, but if it ever does, expect fireworks.
Pacquiao’s patience has been tested to it’s limit. The accusations of steroids, and the verbal back and forth attacks between both camps have come to a boiling point. At the end of the day if these two men do end up in the ring together, the PPV buys will break records.
