One word comes to mind in this result and I will not use it for fear I would have to ban myself from Boxingscene. The loss of words will put off what I was going to write this evening till a cooler head can prevail. To score this fight 115-110 for Marquez stinks to the point of ridiculous. The only positive that I can think of is that Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao both fought the best fight I have seen since Gatti-Ward and both are true warriors and champions.
Had I been watching professional wrestling, I would have smirked, laughed, and waited till next week to see on TV the big news of some PPV event advertising a rematch. This was boxing though and things are just not right in our sport. Too many fights recently have gone down the road this fight did.
Well tune in next week, I?m sure they have the rematch in the works as we speak. Twelve great rounds, two fearless warriors, and one questionable ruling. Perhaps tomorrow I will be able to ascertain how some judges ruled the way they did but tonight I?m going to run back the fight several times enjoy it and stop just before the ruling is announced. A classic fight from two premier athletes, you know what, maybe a draw isn?t so bad, (smirk, laugh) we get to see it in a do over sometime soon I hope?
