Manny Pacquiao stands erect, looking as if he’s fit enough to run a marathon.
His trainer, Freddie Roach, said Pacquiao is one of the most fit boxers he has seen. He sparred more than 130 rounds for tonight’s featherweight title fight at the MGM Grand against champion Juan Manuel Marquez and was still going full speed in workouts Wednesday.
Pacquiao long has been a hero in his native Philippines, but he reached cult status in November after he thrashed the man regarded as the best featherweight in the world, Marco Antonio Barrera.
