Trainer of the Year Freddie Roach, the man who draws up the gameplan for the fights of Manny Pacquiao, said yesterday that his ward ?is explosive and we are coming out there with guns firing? in his war with World Boxing Association/International Boxing Federation featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada tomorrow.
At a news conference at the MGM Grand, Roach said Pacquiao ?is the new superstar out there? and fight fans are in for a truly great fight.
Although there have been reports that Pacquiao was looking ahead to a July 31 clash with super featherweight champion Erik Morales, Roach told Marquez ?believe me we are not overlooking you. You?re a great fighter, a great champion and we respect you and we trained very hard for this fight.?
