LOOKING BACK, LOOKING AHEAD
Won and done.
Plainly, that is Mancunian Candidate Ricky Hatton’s plan. The Manny Pacquiao quickie KO victim’s end game is quite obvious now.
Speculation about Hatton trying to bounce back—and how come he didn’t get an IHOP (International House Of Pancakes) endorsement from the KO 2 by Megamanny?—has ended with Golden Boy’s Richie Rich Schaefer saying publicly that Juan Manuel Marquez, the Mexican Ringmaster, won’t wait any longer for the British boxer.
So the popular Hatton, whose eating and drinking habits are the stuff of UK legend, will look for a punching patsy he face in his final fight.
Nothing wrong with that given how nearly every Pacman punch landed on his face as though magnetized.
Hatton is likely to have a well attended fistic farewell and the opponent’s name hardly matters.
I, for one, will bid Ricky a fond adieu. He came to fight and he brought his countrymen with him.
I’ve made sport of Hatton before and after the Pacman wipeout.
But mark this, and mark it well, his massive popularity has been well deserved.
If his talent was as big as his heart, he’d still be in the top echelon.
But it isn’t and he’s not.
Happy Festivus like the rest of us, Ricky!
