Moments later, the Filipino boxing celebrity was given a strong 50-percent edge (2/1) to stop WBA/IBF featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
With odds in this gambling capital swelling in his favor, Pacquiao, 25, announced he was now sharing his trainer’s view that Marquez, five years his senior, will be a difficult and complicated opponent.
Pacquiao had earlier disagreed with trainer Freddie Roach and told the Inquirer Marquez would be a lot easier to beat than Marco Antonio Barrera, the Mexican boxing icon whom he vanquished in Texas last year.
