Insanity this way lies: Floyd Mayweather fights Matthew Hatton

I was thinking that ostracized Uncle Jeff Mayweather had something loose in his caboose.

I was thinking that his remarks that his nephew who he rarely sees (due to a personality conflict with Leonard Ellerbe and some past situations) were good cause for him to get a check up from the neck up.

I was thinking that Jazzy Jeff is mentally out there where the bus lines don’t go. You get the scrambled picture.

Now I’m not so sure because what was a vague rumor is turning into a buzzing undercurrent.

What would you, Self Respecting Fight Fan, say if I told you that, instead of Manny Pacquiao going into a mega bout against Money May, that less talented fighting brother Bobby was going to challenge the unbeaten Mayweather?

Well, as a Supreme Court justice once said, I cannot “define pornography but I know it when I see it.” Simply put, Bro Bobby would have no chance against a superstar such as Mayweather.

Now let’s flip the script—and here’s where Jazzy Jeff’s auditing of whispers could ne on the money, May.

What if I told you Mayweather was even contemplating an absurd, horrendous, joke of a bout in the UK against Matthew Hatton?

I mean, come on, obscenity, thy name is Matty Hatty versus PBF.

That would be like the Good Shepherd Home for Unwed Mothers lining up across from Drew Brees and the awesome New Orleans Saints.

Now, look HBO loves its American standard bearer Mayweather and I can understand that as HBO’s home offices are not located in Baguio, but how could the prime cable network buy such a ridiculous bout?

Would they mark it, advertise it, as an “exhibition” like pro wrestling?

Could it be part of a three fight package, first Floyd fights Matty Hatty, then he warms up against Bobby Pac and, finally, he fights Megamanny?

I guess the welterweight division has never heard anything as low and pondscum worthy as when Muhammad Ali fought the toothless Lion of Flanders, Jean-Pierre Coopman.

But Matty Hatty-Mayweather would limbo underneath that low bar.

I can’t see Matthew, nice chappie I am sure, even making it as a Mayweather sparring mate.

I can understand boxing power brokers being a bit inebriated on the recent PP TV successes of Mayweather and Pacquiao.

But let’s not get five sheets to the wind drunk and demolish the whole building.

You can leave your Hatton but I don’t want him.

Let’s hope this is a joke like when Alfred E. Newman runs for president.

But I am not laughing, are you?
