Could Manny Pacquiao be a fluke?
That?s what Juan Manuel Marquez?s posse believes, saying that Pacquiao?s victory last November came against an ?unfit? Marco Antonio Barrera.
Prior to his fight against Pacquiao, Barrera had a plethora of issues to deal with, which Marquez?s camp thinks contributed to the Mexican?s 11th-round technical-knockout loss to the Filipino.
A few weeks before his star-crossed date with Pacquiao on November 16, Barrera?s training camp at Big Bear, California, was burned down by forest fires.
Less than a week ahead of the fight, doctors published a brain operation that was performed on Barrera years before.
?At that time, Barrera had [also] just broken ties with his former manager,? said Top Rank publicist Lee Samuels, adding that Barrera?s severed relationship with Ricardo Maldonado could have played a factor in the fight-day mindset of the erstwhile People?s Champion.
