AFTER suffering his first career loss early this year, up-and-coming fighter Larry “Bon Jovi” Canillas has been on a wining romp and his latest victim was Donreil Marcos.
Canillas stopped Marcos in the third round of their 10-round contest last Saturday at the YMCA Gym in Iloilo City in the latest episode of the Summit Fight Night Boxing Tour.
The once undefeated Canillas suffered his first defeat after he was knocked out by journeyman Reman Salim in the eighth round of their battle last May 16. However, the young boxing prospect bounced back from the devastating loss and displayed his ferocity by knocking out veteran Roger Galicia last July 25 and Van Bantilan last Sept. 30, both in the second round.
The heavy-handed Canillas improved to 8-1 with seven knockouts while Marcos fell to 9-6 with a knockout.
ALA boy James Bacon increased his winning streak eight following a unanimous decision victory over patsy Victor Man-on.
