The March 13 fight set between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is one of the most anticipated fights of the decade.
Who knows – it might actually live up to the hype.
With that in mind, here’s a countdown by Carlos Arias of the 10 best fights of the past 25 years.
10. PACQUIAO VS. MAYWEATHER (2010): The fight everybody has been waiting for is upon us. Sure, it hasn’t happened, yet, but we believe it has the potential to crack this list. Manny Pacquiao (right) took over the top spot in the pound-for-pound rankings when Floyd “Money” Mayweather briefly retired. Pacquiao has solidified his place at the top of the rankings with his dominating KO victories over Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. Mayweather came out of retirement and dominated Juan Manuel Marquez. The fight is expected to break pay-per-view records. In the immortal words of Hall of Fame referee Mills Lane: “Let’s get it on!”
