LESS THAN two weeks before he locks horns with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao exuded confidence in his quest to become Asia?s first three-division world champion.
“Maganda na ang kundisyon ko,” said Pacquiao from the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, where he is in the peak of preparations for the May 8 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. “Sa tingin ko ay naabot ko na yung kundisyon ko nang lumaban ako kay (Marco Antonio) Barrera.”
Pacquiao is widely considered as the best featherweight in the world after his 11-round destruction of Barrera last year ? a reputation he hopes to formally crown with the World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation titles Marquez currently owns.
“Of course, it?s different when you own a title,” Rod Nazario, Pacquiao?s business manager, said.
